The FK Renova Džepčište (completely: Fudbalski Klub Renova Džepčište, Macedonian фудбалски клуб Ренова Џепчиште , also FK Renova Cepčište) is a football club from Džepčište in the north of the Opšedonian municipality, a town in the north of Tetovo . The club's first team plays in the Prva Makedonska Liga , the highest North Macedonian league.
history
FK Renova was founded in 2002. He rose to the first division within three years, in which he has established himself since 2005. Behind the association are the entrepreneurs Shefki and Qenan Idrizi, who are joint owners of the retail and service company Renova , which Shefki Idrizi founded in 1992. In 1997 they opened a factory for finished plaster in Džepčište ( Albanian : Xhepçishti) and expanded with the company, including to Albania and other Balkan countries. There has been a Renova Foundation since 2005, which supports around 150 schoolchildren and students with scholarships. Football enthusiast Qenan Idrizi, in particular, is committed to the football team.
Internationally, FK Renova attracted attention in 2008 when it prevailed against Croatian representative HNK Rijeka in the first round of the UEFA Intertoto Cup . In the second round, however, Renova was eliminated. In 2009 the team reached the qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League , but were eliminated by FK Dinamo Minsk .
In the 2009/10 season, the club was in the first place in the table during the winter break. Young international player Besart Ibraimi had a share in the success . Before moving to the German Bundesliga for FC Schalke 04, the striker scored twelve goals in 16 games.
