Farouk Miya (born November 26, 1997 in Bulo ) is a Ugandan football player .

Career

society

Miya started his career at Vipers SC . In January 2016 he switched to Standard Liège on loan to Belgium . He made his debut for Liège in Division 1A in March 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Darwin Andrade on matchday 30 of the 2015/16 season against KV Mechelen in the half-time break . In April 2016, he scored his first goal in the Belgian top division in a 4-1 win against Royal Excel Mouscron . By the end of the loan, he came to four missions in which he scored a goal. For the 2016/17 season he was firmly signed by Liège.

After only one use in the 2016/17 season, he was awarded to league rivals Royal Excel Mouscron during the winter break. He came on three missions for Mouscron. After the loan ended, he returned to Liège for the 2017/18 season. After he had only once again come to play, he was awarded a second time in February 2018, this time to Azerbaijan to the FK Səbail . For Səbail he came to the end of the season to 13 missions in the Premyer Liqası , in which he scored two goals.

After the loan ended, he did not return to Belgium, but moved to Croatia to the HNK Gorica . In his first season at Gorica Miya came to 30 missions in the 1st HNL , in which he scored five goals. In August 2019 he moved to Konyaspor in Turkey . For Konyaspor he made 25 appearances in the Süper Lig in the 2019/20 season , in which he scored eight times.

National team

Miya made his debut for the Ugandan national team in a friendly against the Seychelles in July 2014 . In that game he also scored the goal to make it 1-0. In 2017 he took part in the Africa Cup with Uganda . Miya was used in all three games during the tournament and also scored the only goal in his country. Uganda, however, was eliminated last in Group D in the preliminary round. In 2019 he was reappointed to the Ugandan Africa Cup of Nations squad. This time he reached the round of 16 with his country, in which they failed to Senegal . Miya played all four games in Uganda.
