Filip Hološko (born January 17, 1984 in Piešťany , Czechoslovakia , now Slovakia ) is a former Slovak football player .
Career
Hološko started playing football at MFK Pieš beimany at the age of six, after his father had introduced him to handball a year earlier . At the age of 14, the striker moved to Ozeta Dukla Trenčín with whom he became Slovak champions in both the B and A youth. In the first Slovak division Hološko made his debut on November 17, 2001, in the away game against Inter Bratislava he was substituted on half an hour before the end of the game. It was his only appearance in the Corgoň league , at the beginning of 2002 the attacker moved to the Czech league for FC Slovan Liberec .
In Liberec he trained with the A team, but was initially only used in the B team in the 3rd division. Hološko made his premiere in the Gambrinus Liga on matchday 10 of the 2002/03 season, while Slovan Liberec lost 1-0 at Slavia Prague . The Slovakian scored his first two professional goals on April 6, 2003 in a 2-0 win in the derby against FK Jablonec . In the semifinals of the 2004 UEFA Intertoto Cup against FC Nantes , Hološko tore a cruciate ligament and was sidelined for several months. After his recovery he got in good shape and made his debut on September 3, 2005 in the Slovak national team , which defeated Germany 2-0 in Bratislava . The striker scored his first international goal in the second leg of the relegation to the 2006 World Cup against Spain , which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Slovaks lost the first leg 5-1.
In the winter of 2005/06 Hološko moved to the Turkish first division club Vestel Manisaspor , where he signed a contract for four and a half years. The transfer fee for him was 2.3 million euros. In the winter break of the 2007/08 season after that, he moved to Beşiktaş Istanbul for five million euros . In addition to the transfer, Beşiktaş had to give up Koray Avcı and Burak Yılmaz to Vestel Manisaspor . His first game for Beşiktaş Istanbul he completed on January 5, 2008 in the cup match against Diyarbakır Büyükşehir Belediyesi Diski Spor and made a good game by providing two assists. In his second game against Ankaraspor he scored his first goal for Beşiktaş Istanbul. In the 2008/09 season he won the double, the Turkish Cup and the championship with Beşiktaş. On September 30, 2009, in the Champions League game against CSKA Moscow , Hološko broke his foot and was out for over three months. In the coming winter break of the 2009/10 season , he extended his contract prematurely for a further three years before the contract would have expired next summer. On December 10th, 2010 he broke something on his foot again, namely his right metatarsus, and had to be operated on. As a result, Hološko fell out again for Beşiktaş for three months.
The second half of the 2010/11 season Filip Hološko played on loan for Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor .
For the 2014/15 season he was loaned to league rivals Çaykur Rizespor .
For the 2015/16 season he left Turkey after nine years and continued his career at Sydney FC .
