The First Division 1969/70 was the 31st season of the top Cypriot division in men's football . It began on October 12, 1969 and ended on May 29, 1970.

Champion was EPA Larnaka due to the better goal quotient in front of the tied teams Pezoporikos Larnaka and Omonia Nicosia .

Twelve teams played against each other twice over a total of 22 match days, divided into a first half and a second half. The master qualified for the European Cup of national champions and the cup winners for the European Cup of Cup winners . The bottom of the table was relegated.

From 1966/67 to 1972/73 the champions of Cyprus were automatically eligible for promotion to the first Greek league . It was the time when the Greek-Turkish conflict over the island was at its height and Greece's ties to the Mediterranean island were to be documented in this way.
