The Termas de Río Hondo Airport (officially Aeropuerto Internacional Termas de Río Hondo) is an Argentine airport near the city of Termas de Río Hondo in the province of Santiago del Estero . The airport was only opened in 2012, among others in the presence of the then Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner . Before that, there was an airport there until 1970. Due to its proximity to the airports of Santiago del Estero and San Miguel de Tucumán , there are not very frequent flights to it, there is only one direct connection to Buenos Aires .
