action

After Drake and Josh say goodbye to their parents, Audrey and Walter, who are going on vacation, they both head to the cinema, where Drake invites Josh to a party on the roof of the cinema. Josh accepts this. When they both arrived, the cinema director asked Helen Drake to act as Santa Claus in the cinema, with Josh acting as his sack. Meanwhile, Audrey and Walter get to see their cabin-like holiday bungalow. In the cinema, Drake as Santa Claus meets little Mary Alice, who wishes for the best Christmas she ever had. Drake then promises to take care of it.

In the evening, several teenagers riot at the party, whereupon Josh calls the police. The latter mistakenly thinks he is one of these young people and arrests him. Josh falls in handcuffs from the roof of the cinema into a pickup, which is driven away shortly afterwards. The policemen see this as Josh's attempt to escape and drive after the car. Josh then falls out of the car and is taken to jail, where his cellmate Bludge intends to beat him up in order to maintain his reputation with his fellow inmates. However, Bludge abandons his initial plan when he realizes that he and Josh like each other, so they both decide to simulate a physical altercation.

At the cinema, Drake meets Mary Alice again, who tells him how bad her family is. She also reminds him to grant her wish, which he cannot do without the help of his brother, which is why he helps him escape from prison. But they are arrested on the premises of the prison and taken to court. In court they receive legal support from Helen. Thanks to Helen's support, Drake and Josh are acquitted, but only on condition that they grant Mary Alice her wish, which is to be controlled by Officer Gilbert, who puts electronic ankle cuffs on them. Drake and Josh go to Mary Alice's house. On the way there, she fined Officer Gilbert $ 400 for bad driving. At Mary Alice's home, Drake and Josh get to know her family, her parents and step-siblings Zigfee, who seems to speak an unknown language, the sisters Lily and Violet, who are constantly fighting, the talkative Trey and the curmudgeonly Luke. From then on, Drake and Josh help the family with the Christmas preparations, which makes Officer Gilbert difficult for them by inciting several teenagers to steal their clothes after a previous violent argument. The consequence for the brothers is Gilbert fined them $ 400 for causing public nuisance . Officer Gilbert then has Drake's car towed away, which he gets back for paying a fine of $ 900. Drake and Josh, who decide to stop being sabotaged by the officer, ask their younger sister Megan to remove the electronic ankle cuffs and promise to give her a Smith-Royal oboe as a reward. After Megan has removed the shackles from her two brothers, she attaches them to a remote-controlled model helicopter and flies it over the city, which distracts and confuses the officer.

Some time later, Drake, Josh, Mary Alices and their step-siblings go into the forest to find a suitable Christmas tree and cut it. Because this project fails and Mary Alice's step-siblings get into a dispute, Drake and Josh decide to use a wooden frame Christmas tree to use. At night Megan sets off a firecracker in her brothers' room for not receiving the oboe that Drake and Josh promised, and informs them that she has reattached the tracking devices to her feet. The next day Drake and Josh sing Christmas carols with Mary Alice and her step-siblings for the neighbors, but since the songs don't seem to be very popular, they decide to give a real concert, which also includes Luke, who at first didn't want to take part sings along. Although the performance pleased the neighbors, Drake and Josh are again fined for noise nuisance. Josh wants to find out why Officer Gilbert makes work difficult for him and his brother and seeks out his mother for this purpose. She tells him that her son hates Christmas because he was given a monkey as a child, but it turned out to be aggressive, physically attacked him, urinated on him and finally fled, which triggered a trauma in her son that resulted in expresses a hatred of Christmas and a fear of monkeys. To avoid further punishment, Josh Gilbert wants to give another monkey. The next day, Drake and Josh attend a Christmas parade with Mary Alices and her step-siblings. Gilbert succeeds again in sabotaging the efforts of Drake and Josh by instructing Crazy Steve to remind Drake and Josh of the consequence of the failure to fulfill their conditions, which Crazy Steve also communicates to them in a very aggressive tone and at a very high volume . As a result, Mary Alice and her step-siblings learn of the court order and react with anger and sadness. To make up for their mistake, Drake and Josh want to bring joy to Mary Alice and her step-siblings by making snow with the help of Crazy Steve's snow machine.

In his office in the police station, Officer Gilbert receives his present, a female baby monkey with a certificate of cuteness. Arrived at the house of Mary Alice and her step-siblings, Drake and Josh insert large pieces of ice into the machine, whereupon these large pieces of ice begin to hurl, which destroy the glass panes of the windows of all the houses in the immediate vicinity. When trying to switch off the machine, both of them bump into it and pass out. The next morning they wake up in their room, where Officer Gilbert tells them they are about to begin their sentence. Policemen escort Drake and Josh into the living room, where all their friends and acquaintances as well as Mary Alice and her step-siblings have gathered. The children are then asked whether the current Christmas festival was actually the best festival in their lives so far. Everyone, including Zigfee, replied: Yes . Then Bludge comes out of the fireplace as Santa Claus and hands out presents. At the end of the film, thanks to Crazy Steve's snow machine, it snows real snow, which can be mistaken for cheese powder. Later, Audrey and Walter arrive and join the party.
