Frank E. Lucas

Franklin Earl "Frank" Lucas (born August 4, 1876 in Grant City , Worth County , Missouri , †  November 26, 1948 in Buffalo , Wyoming ) was an American politician ( Republican Party ) who served from 1924 to 1925 as acting governor of the state of Wyoming.

Career

Lucas attended public schools and then moved to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1899. He joined the Republican Party. He served first in the thirteenth and fourteenth state legislatures in the House of Representatives and then in the fifteenth and sixteenth state legislatures in the Wyoming Senate . Then he ran for the post of Secretary of State and served after a successful election from January 1, 1923 to January 3, 1927. After the death of Governor William B. Ross , he continued to serve as acting governor until the next gubernatorial election in 1925. After serving as Secretary of State, he returned to Buffalo, where he served as the editor and publisher of the Buffalo Bulletin .
