National Governors Association

The National Governors Association (NGA) is an organization of the governors of the 50 US states as well as the five US outer areas ( American Samoa , Guam , Northern Mariana Islands , Puerto Rico , Virgin Islands ).

The NGA is a very respected institution and acts as an intermediary between the governors and the federal government in Washington .

The current chair of the NGA is Andrew Cuomo , Democratic Governor of New York .
