Frido von Blume

Friedrich Gottlieb Frido Blume , Knight of Flower since 1892 , (born March 26, 1832 in Würzburg , † May 22, 1907 in Munich ) was a Bavarian lieutenant general .

Life

Blume was the son of a medical officer . After graduating from the Cadet Corps , he was transferred to the 1st Artillery Regiment of the Bavarian Army on August 25, 1850 as a Junker . In 1851 he was transferred to the 2nd Artillery Regiment as a sub-lieutenant , and in 1859 he was transferred to the Ouvriers company . In the same year, Blume was reassigned to the 2nd Artillery Regiment and was promoted to first lieutenant . Here he was promoted to the battalion and regimental adjutant . Since June 18, 1866 , Blume was a captain during the war against Prussia in the same year as a company commander in the garrison of the Marienberg Fortress .

In the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 he was chief of the 6th battery. Blume took part in the battles at Weißenburg , Marsal , Sedan and the siege of Paris and was honored for his behavior with the Iron Cross II. Class and the Knight's Cross II. Class of the Order of Military Merit with Swords.

Promoted to major on July 17, 1874 and transferred to the 2nd Foot Artillery Regiment as commander of the 1st Battalion , Blume took part in various siege exercises by the Prussian Army several times over the years . In 1878 he became a lieutenant colonel . From March 2, 1881, Blume acted as commander of the 1st foot artillery regiment "Bothmer" . After five years of activity, he gave up command, became commander of the foot artillery brigade and in this capacity was promoted to major general on May 11, 1888 . With the reshuffle of the brigade and the creation of an inspection of the foot artillery, Blume became the first inspector on April 1, 1889. On January 1, 1892, Prince Regent Luitpold paid tribute to his many years of service by being awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Bavarian Crown . With the award the elevation to the personal nobility was connected and he was allowed to call himself "Knight of Flower" after the entry in the nobility register .

Promoted to Lieutenant General on May 12, 1892, Blume was put up for disposition on that date . He was the owner of the Commander-in-Chief of the Order of Military Merit, the Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Order of Saint Michael and the Star for the Prussian Order of the Crown, 2nd Class.
