Friedrich von Knobloch
Friedrich Adolf von Knobloch (born March 27, 1797 in Wernershof , † August 17, 1881 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .
Life
origin
Friedrich was the son of the gentleman at Wernershof and Delgienen Friedrich Ludwig Alexander von Knobloch and his wife Susanne Eleonore, née Schnelle.
Military career
Knobloch joined the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a musketeer on November 1, 1812 . During the wars of liberation he took part in the fighting on the Katzbach , Leipzig , Laon and Paris and was wounded near Löwenberg . As a second lieutenant in 1815 Knobloch was leader of the volunteer hunter detachments of his regiment.
After the peace treaty he was transferred to the Rhenish Rifle Battalion in February 1816 and completed the General War School by 1819 . Knobloch was then assigned to the topographic office until 1821 . As a prime lieutenant in early May 1827 he was employed as adjutant in the 16th division . Left in this position, Knobloch was aggregated on March 30, 1833 with the promotion to captain of the 1st Rifle Division . After three years he was transferred to the 29th Infantry Regiment as a company commander and in the same position on March 30, 1838 to the 25th Infantry Regiment . Knobloch advanced to major on February 22, 1839 and was commander of the III. Battalions in the 30th Landwehr Regiment. He then took over the 1st Battalion in the 38th Infantry Regiment (6th Reserve Regiment) in Mainz . From there Knobloch was transferred to Guben on November 18, 1848 and appointed commander of the 12th Infantry Regiment . He rose to the rank of colonel by mid-January 1851 and from December 6, 1851 also served as director of the division school of the 5th division . On January 19, 1854 he was accepted into the Order of St. John . From April 25 to May 8, 1854 Knobloch was briefly in command of the 17th Infantry Brigade , and then took over the post of Commander of Koblenz and Ehrenbreitstein . In this capacity he was honored on July 13, 1854, Major General and on September 28, 1856 with the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Zähringer Lion . With his appointment as commander of the 14th Infantry Brigade Knobloch came to Düsseldorf on April 4, 1857 . King Friedrich Wilhelm IV honored him on September 17, 1857 with the Order of the Red Eagle, Second Class with Oak Leaves, before Knobloch was put up for disposition as Lieutenant General with the statutory pension on November 10, 1857 .
family
Knobloch married on December 7, 1839 in Koblenz with Luise Karoline Ida Maria von Vigny (1816–1875), daughter of the Prussian Major General Johann Karl Magdalena von Vigny (1777–1846). The daughter Marie Louise Eleonore (* 1840) emerged from the marriage, who in 1860 married the later Prussian Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Count Finck von Finckenstein (1824-1870).
