Adolf Friedrich Joseph Otto von Maltzan Freiherr zu Wartenberg and Penzlin (born June 22, 1838 in Mallin , † July 23, 1914 in Neustrelitz ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and grand ducal-Mecklenburg-Strelitzscher upper court marshal .

Friedrich von Maltzan (No. 699 of the gender census ) was a member of the noble family Maltza (h) n . He was the second son of the heir to Mallin, Friedrich (Wilhelm Julius) von Maltzan Freiherr zu Wartenberg and Penzlin (1804–1869) and Elisabeth von Steinfeld (1809–1862).

Career

Friedrich von Maltzan began his career on May 15, 1854 in the replacement squadron of the KK 7th Uhlan Regiment . On June 20, 1854 he became a cadet and on January 1, 1855 he was promoted to sub-lieutenant . He then rose to lieutenant on May 1, 1859, and was assigned to the cavalry school in Vienna from October 1, 1864 to October 1, 1865 . Maltzan's departure was approved on September 30, 1867.

On October 1, 1867, he was employed as a cavalry captain and squadron chief with a patent from the same day in the 2nd Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Dragoon Regiment No. 18 .
