Gérard Rué (born July 7, 1965 in Romillé , Ille-et-Vilaine ) is a former professional French cyclist and team manager. He was a professional from 1987 to 1997.

Career

Rué began his career at Système U and was able to win the Duo Normand race with Thierry Marie . In 1989 he supported his team leader Laurent Fignon in his victory at Milan-San Remo and finished eighth himself. In the same year he finished second in the Midi Libre and, with his team-mates from Super U, won a stage in the MZF on the second stage of the 1989 Tour de France . In 1992 and 1993 he was runner-up at La Flèche Wallonne . From 1993 to 1995 he was exclusively a helper for Miguel Indurain during the Tour de France .

After his active time, Rué became team assistant at Team Euskaltel-Euskadi in 2000 and moved to Team Festina in 2001 , which was dissolved at the end of 2001.
