Götz Heymann (born July 26, 1935 in Berlin ) is a German set designer and film architect .

Life

Since the mid-1960s, the trained theater carpenter ( Schillertheater with Boleslaw Barlog ) and autodidact Götz Heymann has been developing the coherent, detailed stage set that supports the actor for important German and international film productions, for example for Theo against the rest of the world , Germany, pale mother or Das Spinnennetz , in which he won the gold film ribbon in 1990 (today: German Film Prize ). He made his breakthrough in the film business in 1967 with Johannes Schaf's tattoo . So far he has worked for around 90 cinema, television, theater, event and advertising productions with directors such as Helmut Baumann , Frank Beyer , Helma Sanders-Brahms , Peter F. Bringmann , Eberhard Fechner , Matti Geschonneck , Hajo Gies , Peter Keglevic , Roland Klick , Horst Königstein , Johannes Schaaf , Rolf von Sydow , Tom Toelle , Andrzej Wajda , Dieter Wedel , Kai Wessel , Bernhard Wicki , Adolf Winkelmann u. v. a. Heymann is a member of the German Film Academy and the S / F / K Association , honorary member since 2011. The Götz Heymann Archive is located in the Akademie der Künste, Berlin .

His daughter Anna Heymann is also a production designer.
