history
A skeleton grave ("The man from Ganzkow"), which was discovered in 1930, dates back to prehistoric times. Otto Dibbelt , curator of cultural and historical soil antiquities, published a report on the find in the Kolberg-Körlin home calendar in 1936.
The village emerged in the Middle Ages in the form of a dead end village . It was first mentioned in 1276 when the Bishop of Cammin, Hermann von Gleichen , confirmed his possessions to the Kolberg Cathedral Chapter . This also included the tenth from the village called "Gansekov" at the time; the village as such belonged to the bishop. In 1429 the village belonged to the Kolberg nunnery .
After the Reformation, from 1565, Ganzkow appeared in the fiefdom of the noble Podewils family , who owned it until around 1700. From 1764, Friedrich Wilhelm von Gerlach (* 1711; † 1780) was among the later owners . During the Seven Years' War , Ganzkow was destroyed during the siege of Kolberg. The reconstruction was supported by royal grace money. In addition to the large farm, two rows of settler posts were created instead of the previous farm posts. These were at times (so 1816) under the name "Ganzkowsche Katen" as a separate living space.
In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Ganzkow is listed among the noble estates of the Principality of Cammins . At that time, in addition to the Vorwerk, i.e. the farm, a schoolhouse, a forge and the “newly built houses on the Feldmark”, there were a total of 19 households (“fire places”).
In 1797 the agricultural reformer Georg Friedrich Haese bought Ganzkow and introduced many innovations there, but was unable to keep the estate in the long term. In the course of the 19th century, the Ganzkow estate changed hands many times. Finally, the Ganzkow estate was sold to Landbank Berlin , which in 1912 divided it up into 19 farm positions. The new farm sites were created outside the village along the country roads. There remained a remnant with 178 hectares of land, which was also sold.
The larger manor district of Ganzkow and the smaller rural community of Ganzkow had coexisted since the 19th century . As of 1905, the Ganzkow manor district comprised 516 hectares of land and 159 inhabitants, the rural community of Ganzkow only 85 hectares of land and 55 inhabitants. With the settlement of the estate after 1912, the estate district was incorporated into the rural community.
Ganzkow was in the Fürstenthum district until 1872 and when it was divided it became part of the Kolberg-Körlin district . The community of Ganzkow last had no named residential spaces before 1945.
In 1945 Ganzkow, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The residents were driven out . The place name was Polonized to "Gąskowo". Today the place belongs to Gmina Dygowo (rural community Degow) .
