Directorate-General for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship
The Directorate-General for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship ( DG JUST for short ) is a Directorate-General of the European Commission , which organizationally belongs to the Directorates-General for Policy Areas (Policies). She is assigned to the Luxembourg EU Commissioner Viviane Reding ( CSV / EVP ) from the EU Commission Barroso (2010 to 2014). The director is Tiina Astola .
The Directorate-General was created in 2010 by splitting the previous Directorate-General for Justice, Freedom and Security. The division took place in accordance with the division of the department of the Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security into a justice department and a home affairs department .

The general management consists of four divisions, which are subdivided into up to 4 departments depending on their size.
