The George W. Joseph State Natural Area is a state park in Multnomah County in the US state of Oregon . The 60 hectare park is located in the Columbia River Gorge and is accessed via paths from the 76 m high Latourell Falls through the adjacent Guy W. Talbot State Park . The park area was owned by George W. Joseph , a Senator for the state of Oregon. He and his heirs donated a total of 32 hectares to the state of Oregon in 1934 and 1942, and in 1959 the additional park area was bought by Multnomah County. Use of the park is free of charge. The park is located on the upper reaches of Latourell Creek and is densely forested. A path leads to the 36 m high Upper Latourell Falls .
