Society for free journalism
The Society for free journalism (GAP) is estimated by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution , the largest right-wing cultural association in Germany and was at least in 2005, according Verfassungsschutzbericht from 2006, the NPD close. The contact address is a secretariat with a PO box in Oberboihingen near Nürtingen and is divided into several regional working groups. It mainly includes right-wing extremist publishers, booksellers, editors and writers. The GfP sees its task in “standing up for the freedom and truth of the word”, whereby the GfP assumes that freedom and truth - for example in the field of contemporary history research - are suppressed in Germany.
founding
The GfP was founded in 1960 by former members of the NSDAP and the SS . The former deputy press chief of the NSDAP, Helmut Sündermann , played a special role . Co-founders were also Kurt Ziesel , Erich Kern , Herbert Böhme and Peter Kleist , the former personal advisor to the Nazi Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop .
The GfP wrote: "At Whitsun 1960, publishers, editors, writers, booksellers and friends of independent journalism met in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse to unite against a disastrous development." "On the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair 1960" is the society for free journalism was founded as a registered association . The society for free journalism e. V. is entered in the register of associations at the Munich District Court under number VR 1008.

collaboration
Right from the start, the GfP worked closely with the Deutsche Kulturwerk Europäische Geist and its subsequent spin-off, the Deutsche Kulturgemeinschaft . Since the 1990s at the latest, the editorial staff of Nation und Europa has had a considerable influence on GfP. The GfP has been working closely with the German Study Association (DSG), a right-wing extremist group, since 2000 .
subjects
Topics of the GfP are in particular the "questioning of the gassing of millions of Jews" (according to Helmut Rannacher , former President of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Baden-Württemberg; see Holocaust denial ), the denial or relativization of Germany's war guilt, the "foreigner question" "Freedom of Expression for National Journalism" and other revisionist theories and approaches. The main tasks of the GfP include promoting cooperation between right-wing and right-wing extremist publishers and between publishers and authors and providing political and legal support in the event of police or public prosecutor investigations against the authors of right-wing publications. GfP also spreads views such as “' Nigger ' is not a dirty word” (gfp-netz.de of December 17, 2007) in a prominent place on its website - the entry page of its website .
The GfP wants - as it puts it - to make a contribution to a program that contrasts the "daily indoctrination " of a " politically correct thinking that corresponds to the spirit of the times, but which has an effect that destroys its substance and future".
Congresses and publications
The GfP organizes annual congresses in which authors, scientists and politicians from the right-wing conservative to right-wing extremist spectrum take part. They are an important place for strategy discussions, with which the GfP tries to influence contemporary journalism through award ceremonies, among other things. Some speakers were or are members of the NPD, the Witikobund or publish in magazines such as Nation und Europa. Individual CDU members such as Albrecht Jebens or Hans-Helmuth Knütter also gave lectures at the GfP. The lectures at the congresses are published by the GfP in edited volumes. In addition, the Free Forum appears quarterly as an organizational newsletter. As a sign of the GfP's efforts to network with “patriotic forces”, the Bavarian constitutional protection agency assessed the appearance of the former elementary school teacher Nikolai Nerling , who questioned the Holocaust on the YouTube channel “Der Volkslehrer” , disseminated anti-Semitic and conspiracy-theoretical positions and in front of a “ Extinction of the German people ”warns at the 2018 annual congress.
