Giovanni Simonelli (born December 1, 1926 in Rome ; † November 17, 2007 there ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

The son of director Giorgio Simonelli made his debut in 1958 as a screenwriter for the film Quanto sei bella Roma . In his career, which lasted until 1990, he wrote over eighty templates, often for action-packed films by Gianfranco Parolini and Antonio Margheriti . His work was not outstanding art, but reliable, shrewd entertainment; An impression that his 1989 only film as a director, the mediocre horror film Die Saat des Teufels, unfortunately could no longer reflect when he stepped in for Lucio Fulci , with whom he worked several times during this time (including his final screenplay, Un gatto nel cervello ). In 1997 he returned from retirement for the television film Mio padreè innocente .

Sometimes he was referred to as Simon O'Neil . Simonelli wrote novels under other pseudonyms such as Art Mitchell, Larry Madison or J. Duke Sandwell, most of which appeared in notebooks.

Simonelli has a son, Michele, born in 1965.
