The Gmina Kozłowo [ kɔz'wɔvɔ ] is a rural community in the powiat Nidzicki of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the village of the same name ( German Groß Koslau ) with about 1400 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the southwest of the voivodeship. The border with the Masovian Voivodeship is three kilometers away. Olsztyn (Allenstein) is about 40 kilometers northeast, the district town of Nidzica (Neidenburg) four kilometers east. Neighboring communities are the communities Grunwald in the north-west, Olsztynek in the north, Nidzica in the east, Janowiec Kościelny in the south-east, Iłowo-Osada in the south and Działdowo and Dąbrówno in the west.
The community has an area of 254 km², 76 percent of which is used for agriculture and 12 percent for forestry. The north belongs to the Allenstein Lake District and is rich in smaller lakes. The three largest are Kownatki (216 hectares ), Kąty (42 hectares) and Szkotowskie (41 hectares). The river Nida (Neide) runs through the east of the municipality. The region belongs to the south of the East Prussian Oberland .
history
The rural community was formed again in 1973 from various gromadas . From 1946 to 1998, its area belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship in various forms. The powiat was disbanded from 1975 to 1998. On January 1, 1999, the community came to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship and again to the powiat Nidzicki.

The DW545 voivodeship road from Nidzica (Neidenburg) to Działdowo (Soldau) leads through Kozłowo . The DW538 runs north from Nidzica via Biskupiec (Bischofswerder) to Łasin (Lessen) .
On the Działdowo – Olsztyn railway line, there are Kozłowo and Zakrzów Sarnowo stations in Zakrzewo.
The nearest major international airport is Warsaw .
