Gotlandsflyg AB was a Swedish virtual regional airline based in Visby on Gotland .

history

The company was founded in 2001 by local entrepreneurs and Sverigeflyg Holding AB, which is already involved in other small regional lines such as Kullaflyg , Sundsvallsflyg and Blekingflyg , in protest against the monopoly of Skyways Express in order to obtain better fares for the islanders. After fierce opposition, Skyways Express finally lowered flight prices drastically in order not to lose solidarity passengers to and from Gotland.

In February 2016 Gotlandsflyg ceased operations under its own name, because Sverigeflyg merged with Golden Air and Malmö Aviation to form BRA Braathens Regional Airlines .

Destinations

Gotlandsflyg served Stockholm and Gothenburg from Visby, as well as other destinations such as Mora and Oslo .

fleet

As of January 2015, Gotlandsflyg's fleet consisted of two rented ATR 72-500 .
