Braathens Regional Aviation (formerly Malmö Aviation) is a Swedish airline based in Malmö and offers aircraft wet leasing services for BRA Braathens Regional Airlines together with its sister airline Braathens Regional Airways . Braathens Regional Aviation is a subsidiary of Braganza AB .
history
The airline was founded in 1981. In 1991 the destinations Hamburg and London were added to the flight plan. In 1998 Malmö Aviation was bought by the Norwegian airline Braathens , which led to a cooperation with Braathens Sverige . Malmö Aviation has been recognized several times by the “Grand Travel Award” in Stockholm as “Best Domestic Airline in Sweden”.
At the end of 2015, the company planned to set up a base at Umeå Airport ; For the time being, a Saab 2000 should be stationed there and, if there is sufficient demand, it should be switched to larger aircraft.
In March 2016, the operational business of Malmö Aviation and Sverigeflyg as well as Braathens Regional Aviation were merged and the joint appearance takes place under the name BRA Braathens Regional Airlines. In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , BRA ceased operations and filed for insolvency under self-administration.
Destinations
In addition to a few national destinations, Malmö Aviation also served several European cities such as Brussels and Nice . Winter destinations in the Alpine region, such as Salzburg , are also served seasonally .

Malmö Aviation was planned as the first customer for the Airbus A220, but waived this due to a flight tax introduced in Sweden.
