Sverigeflyg was a Swedish virtual airline based in Stockholm that acted as the parent company, coordinating flights for various smaller virtual airlines. These in turn had their flights carried out by several and changing airlines which, in contrast to the virtual companies, had operating permits ( Air Operator Certificates ).

history

Sverigeflyg was founded in 2001. Under the umbrella of this company, actually called Sverigeflyg Holding, virtual airlines initiated by regional business associations came together, the first of which was Gotlandsflyg . This was followed by Kullaflyg ( Ängelholm ), Sundsvallsflyg, Blekingeflyg, Kalmarflyg, Flysmaland ( Växjö ) and Östersundsflyget.

In 2011 the company was bought by the competing airline Braathens Aviation . A large part of the flights were operated by Golden Air, which was also bought by Braathens Aviation in 2012 and changed its name to Braathens Regional on January 1, 2013 .

In February 2016, Sverigeflyg merged with Golden Air and Malmö Aviation to form BRA Braathens Regional Airlines .
