Company headquarters in Baden-Baden

The Grenke AG (2016 Grenkeleasing AG ; own spelling GRENKE ) is a German financial services provider based in Baden-Baden . The core business of the MDAX- listed company is leasing office communication products. Grenke is also active in factoring and has a banking license . Grenke is a member of the Federal Association of German Leasing Companies .

history

The company founded in 1978 by Wolfgang Grenke as a sole proprietorship was incorporated into what was then Grenkeleasing KG in 1979 . In the following years the first branches were opened in Germany. In 1990, Grenkeleasing was the first German leasing company to set up a legally independent branch in what was then East Berlin. In 1997 the company changed its name to a stock corporation , and on April 4, 2000 it went public on the Neuer Markt . Grenkeleasing has been listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2003 .

The Grenke Group has also been offering factoring as a financial service since 2005 .

In early 2009, the company acquired a banking license by purchasing the former private bank Hesse Newman , which was then renamed Grenke Bank .

On May 3, 2016, the general meeting of Grenkeleasing AG decided to change the name to Grenke AG. This step was justified with the increasing importance of factoring and banking.

At the end of February 2018, company founder Grenke stepped down from the Executive Board after the expiry of his term of office. On March 1, the post of CEO was taken over by his deputy, Antje Leminsky. Wolfgang Grenke was elected to the Supervisory Board at the company's annual general meeting on May 3, 2018.

On June 24, 2019, the Grenke share was promoted from the SDAX to the MDAX .
