Grötschen is a locality and, as Gretschen, a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Rappottenstein in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 19 building areas with 8,775 m² and 8 gardens on 3,930 m² in the cadastral community of Gretschen , in 1989/1990 there were 19 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 11 and in 2009/2010 there were 7 buildings on 12 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 46 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 616 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 16 hectares and 646 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 14 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 643 hectares. The average soil climate in Gretschen is 15.4 (as of 2010).
