At the hotel management school, Köberl met his future wife Leopoldine, an innkeeper from Wels , whom he married in 1973. Two years later he interrupted his stage career to take over the “Künstler-Pension Zeilinger - Rollschuhwirt” in Wels and the “Seewirt” in Obertraun / Salzkammergut . As a “roller skate owner”, he served drinks on roller skates and opera arias only played at curfew . He got involved in the youth and social sector and founded the "youth drinks" according to § 112 (4) GewO in all restaurants.

After he had decided to devote himself to both the hospitality industry and the theater, he started a tour of Austria and Germany after a 15-year break from the stage . He appeared in the Ljubljana Opera , in the city theaters of Detmold , Luxembourg , Wiener Neustadt , Augsburg and Wels, in the Braschat Music Theater / Belgium and in the Vienna Operetta Theater as well as on the Munich Opera Theater and in more than a hundred benefit concerts and sang on the cruise ships MSC Musica and MSC Opera .

Köberl is an integral part of the Welser Arkadenhof cultural summer (WAKS).

In his hometown of Obertraun he is considered to be the founder of the "Dachstein Ice Sound Concerts" because he was the first singer in the cave at the time for the wedding of an ice cave guide and sang in the cave at the celebration of the world cultural heritage .
