coat of arms

Blazon

Split from red with a white dove, holding a green leaf in its beak, over a black crutch cross and from green with a yellow bundle of sheaves of five stylized ears.

The first seal of Guntmadingen from 1840 shows a plowshare turned with the tip down as a symbol for the peasantry. When cleaning up the coat of arms, there was a suggestion to choose the one from Messrs. Radegg as a reminiscence of the previous owners, but this was not well received. Instead, a two-part coat of arms with a bundle of sheaves was chosen as a reference to the grain dolls so popular in Guntmadingen, and the coat of arms of the Heiliggeistspital in Schaffhausen, which owned large estates in Guntmadingen.

Culture and sights

  • Cart tracks , which were created by the ore mining between 1678 and 1850.
  • Swiss plow museum , the largest of its kind in Switzerland
