history

In 1481, Hermann Trumpe, a trained miller and servant of Count Bernhard VII (1429–1511) from Lippe, received the land around today's Rothensiek estate as a fief . In the files, an Ilseke Trumpe was mentioned in his service as "maid and Bislepersche" (housekeeper and sleeper), who had at least 11 illegitimate children with the count. If this was the sister of Hermann Trumpe on Rodensiek, that explains the benevolence of his former master.

In 1530 Hermann Trumpe bequeathed Gut Rodensiek to his son of the same name.

In 1574 the founder's grandson sold the estate to Count Simon VI from Lippe. to the appearance, which shortly afterwards passed it on to the count's secretary, Adolf von Rinteln. This then also paid the purchase price. The reason for the count's purchase was that the Horner family had a say in the sale of the Rothensiek estate. With the help of the Count, the purchase went smoothly.

From 1580 to 1582, the plague ripped off many Lips. The Thirty Years' War and the plague had reduced the population to a quarter. In 1671 von Kotzenberg bought the first 30% of the Rothensiek estate from Cord von der Lippe. In 1674 von Kotzenberg was ennobled by the emperor. In 1677, the part of the estate acquired by Kotzenberg was declared a manor. In 1679 von Kotzenberg bought most of the property from the widow Beckmann. In 1687 von Kotzenberg completed the construction of the weir systems with a moat, drawbridge and loopholes by completing the "Vorwerk". This is now a listed building. In 1712 the heirs sold the manor to Christoph von Stedingk. In 1781 the grandson Georg Friedrich sold the homestead to the Lippische Fürstliche Rentkammer, on that day it was eliminated from the row of manors. In 1789 Hermann Adolf Heinrich Krücke received Gut Rothensiek on a long lease. After his death in 1813, his wife ran the estate until 1827. In 1882 Emil Volland bought the estate from his relatives. Gut Rothensiek remained in the Volland family and was converted in 1982 through new buildings and renovations for holidaymakers. Since 2003, the facility has been used as a hotel after renovations.
