Location of Hagendorf in Bavaria

Hagendorf is a district of the Bavarian market Waidhaus in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the administrative district of Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

Hagendorf is about three kilometers northwest of Waidhaus and four kilometers north of the A6 motorway . Hagendorf lies on the south bank of the Raunetbach . The Raunetbach rises northwest of Reinhardsrieth and flows south of the Hörlmühle into the Pfreimd .

Hagendorf-North

In 1860, in Hagendorf-Nord, Meixner mine, the mining of feldspar began. Initially in the open pit. At the turn of the century, civil engineering and tunnel operations began. 220,000 tons of feldspar were extracted. In 1937 the mine was closed. It was also an abundant mineral find. Phosphate minerals were found in the edge areas of the pegmatite. After it was closed, the pit grew and is now (2015) difficult to access.

Hagendorf-Nord is considered a type locality for the minerals phosphophyllite and scholzite .

Hagendorf-South

From 1894 to 1983 feldspar and phosphate pegmatite were mined in the Hagendorf-Süd Cornelia mine. The mine was world famous for its mineral findings. After it was closed, the pit was flooded and is now (2015) a bird sanctuary. The pond created in this way is located about one kilometer southwest of the village of Hagendorf.

Hagendorf-Süd counts as the type locality of numerous minerals, namely Carlhintzeit , Earlshannonite , Flurlite , Hagendorfite , Kayrobertsonite , Keckite , Kummerite , Laueit , Lehnerite , Nordgauite , Parascholzite , Phosphoferrite , Pseudolaueit , Steinmetzite , Whiteit and Wilhelmvierlingite .

An interest register from 1454 recorded Hagendorf as belonging to the Pleystein nursing office . It was listed in this document in the series of desolate and deserted places. At that time, the Pleystein Nursing Office had the manorial power over Hagendorf, the high and low jurisdiction and, together with the Miesbrunn parish, the tithe rights.

After Hagendorf had been lying desolate for a long time, it appeared in the house and rustic tax cadastre and in the original cadastre from 1840 for the second half of the 18th century as a village with 14 properties, a mill and a shepherd's house belonging to the Vohenstrauss district, municipality of Reinhardsrieth.

In 1805 Hagendorf was listed as belonging to the third quarter of the Pleystein nursing office.

For a short time, namely from 1804 to 1807, there was a regional court in Pleystein, to which Hagendorf belonged. This district court Pleystein was dissolved in 1807 and Hagendorf came to the district court Treswitz.

In 1808 tax districts were formed. Hagendorf became its own tax district which, in addition to Hagendorf itself, also contained the villages of Hinterbrünst, Leßlohe, Reinhardsrieth and the desert areas Berghaus, Hagenhaus, Lösselmühle, Zitzmannhaus and Waldheim. The Hagendorf tax district now belonged to the Vohenstrauß Regional Court.

Markets, rural communities and village communities emerged from the tax districts . In 1821 Hagendorf was a village community with 26 families. The village of Hagendorf also included the desert Berghaus with a family.

In 1830, the Hagendorf community was incorporated into the Reinhardsrieth community. The community Reinhardsrieth now consisted of Reinhardsrieth itself, as well as Berghaus, Bernlohe, Hagendorf, Hagenhaus and Leßlohe.

In 1976 Hagendorf was incorporated into Waidhaus.

Hagendorf belongs to the parish of St. Wenzeslaus Miesbrunn and to the dean's office in Leuchtenberg. The Miesbrunn parish together with the Pleystein parish and the Burkhardsrieth branch form a parish community. Hagendorf has its own St. Barbara church, which was built in 1974 and where services are occasionally held. In 1913 Hagendorf had 23 houses and 222 Catholics. The residents of the parish of Miesbrunn were 99.44% Catholic at that time. In 1990 193 Catholics lived in Hagendorf. At that time, 98.69% of the inhabitants of the parish of Miesbrunn were Catholic. In 2011, 86.6% of the residents of the Waidhaus community were Catholic and 3.8% Protestant.
