Ralf Hantschke (born May 27, 1965 in Bad Muskau , GDR ) is a former German ice hockey player and for many years was the manager of the Lausitzer Füchsen in Weißwasser / Oberlausitz .

Career

Hantschke learned to play ice hockey at Dynamo Weißwasser in the GDR . The left shooter had been in the team's squad since 1984, played as a striker in the top league of the GDR and became GDR ice hockey champions in 1988/89 and 1989/1990 . When the two East German teams Dynamo Weisswasser as PEV Weisswasser and Dynamo Berlin as EHC Dynamo Berlin for season 1990/91 in the hockey Bundesliga were taken, he played there for two more years for white water before the 1992/93 season for EV Landshut changed. For Landshut he played two seasons in the Bundesliga and two more years until 1996 in the newly founded German Ice Hockey League (DEL) . For the 1996/97 season he moved to the Newcastle Cobras in the UK's highest league Ice Hockey Superleague . From 1997 to 2001 he played again with the Frankfurt Lions in the DEL. However, these were eliminated several times in the semifinals against the eventual German champions. He then played for the lower class EHC Leipziger Eislöwen in the 2002/03 seasons in the Sachsenliga and 2003/04 in the Regionalliga , where he ended his active career as a player.

Hantschke then returned to his roots in Weißwasser and was the sporting director and manager of the EHC Lausitzer Füchse from 2008 to 2016 . Between 2016 and 2017 he worked as a junior manager at Eissport Weißwasser. He has been managing director of EV Landshut since 2017 .

International

Hantschke took part with the GDR national ice hockey team in the 1985 World Championships and the B World Championships in 1986 , 1987 , 1989 and 1990 .
