Hartmut Nassauer
Hartmut Nassauer (born October 17, 1942 in Marburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was the Hessian Minister of the Interior and until the end of 2006 chairman of the CDU / CSU group in the European Parliament .
Life
Nassauer, who comes from Dautphe in Central Hesse, worked after studying law and political science in Frankfurt am Main and Marburg an der Lahn (1964–1968), initially as a judge at the Kassel regional court and the Wolfhagen district court . Since 1979 he has been admitted to the bar at the Kassel Regional Court.
From 1974 to 1994 Nassauer was a member of the Hessian state parliament : 1987 to 1990 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Hessian state parliament, from November 1990 to April 1991 Hessian interior minister, 1991 to 1994 vice president of the Hessian state parliament.
Nassauer has been a member of the European Parliament since 1994 : from 1996 to 1999 he was parliamentary managing director of the CDU / CSU group, from 1999 to 2006 chairman of the CDU / CSU group in the European Parliament, since 2007 he has been deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of the European People's Party / European Democrats (EPP-ED), member of the Legal Affairs Committee since 2007 and deputy member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety , and since 1999 member and chairman of the ASEAN delegation of the European Parliament. For the 2009 European elections Hartmut Nassauer did not occur at more. When the CDU Hessen proposed the list , there was a candidate for a fight to succeed him on the list, which received a relatively large amount of attention in the media.
