Heikki Siukola

Heikki Johannes Siukola (born March 20, 1943 in Vimpeli ) is a Finnish opera singer with a tenor voice .

Life

Heikki Siukola, born in Finland, is one of the leading hero tenors of our time. He studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with personalities such as Ettore Campogalliani , Jolanda Maria di Petris , Fedora del Monaco , Irmgard Hartmann and Peter Gougaloff . After completing his studies, he took on a number of permanent positions in Germany and has been working as a freelancer since 1982.

Since then, his regular guest appearances have taken him to the most important stages in the world, such as the Vienna State Opera , the Deutsche Oper Berlin , the State Opera Unter den Linden , the Bavarian State Opera , to Hamburg , Dresden , Strasbourg , Lyon , Bordeaux , Montpellier , Lisbon and Catania , Venice , Bologna , Tokyo , Cape Town , Buenos Aires , Melbourne , London's Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York .

He celebrated a triumphant success in 1995 as the title hero in Tristan und Isolde in a new production by Günther Schneider-Siemssen with Gwyneth Jones as a partner. This game then became his trademark. Heikki Siukola sang them in 21 productions. Birgit Nilsson described him as the best Tristan she had ever heard.

Siukola works with conductors such as Zubin Mehta , Wolfgang Sawallisch , Horst Stein , Franz Welser-Möst , Peter Schneider , Leopold Hager , Heinrich Hollreiser , Heinz Fricke , Riccardo Chailly , Christoph von Dohnányi , Esa-Pekka Salonen and Simone Young .
