Bright Kimaiyo Kipkoskei

Hellen Kimaiyo Kipkoskei (born September 8, 1968 in Moiben , Rift Valley Province ) is a former Kenyan long-distance runner .

Life

At the age of 15 she started at the Olympic Games in 1984 in Los Angeles over 3000 m , but was eliminated in the preliminary run.

The following year she won gold over 3000 m and bronze over 1500 m at the 1985 African Athletics Championships . Silver over 3000 m followed at the Pan-African Games in 1987 and gold over 3000 m and silver over 1500 m at the 1989 African Athletics Championships in Lagos. In 1992 she was ninth over 10,000 m at the Olympic Games in Barcelona .

She was part of the victorious Kenyan team at the World Cross Country Championships three times in a row : in 1992 as eleventh and in 1993 and 1994 as twelfth.

In the 1990s she was also successful in road running . In 1993 she set the current course record at the Corrida Internacional de São Silvestre and won the Dam tot Damloop three times in a row from 1993 to 1995 . She also won the New Year's Eve in Trier in 1991 and the Zevenheuvelenloop in 1995. In 1995 she was fourth in the Route du Vin , in 1997 tenth in the London Marathon , in 1998 third in the Los Angeles Marathon , fourth in the Amsterdam Marathon and in 2000 third in Rock 'n 'Roll Marathon and eleventh in the New York City Marathon .
