Location of Herbram-Wald in Lichtenau
|
Herbram-Wald is a northern district of Lichtenau in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Paderborn . Herbram Forest is also part of the Bürener Land region .
geography
Local area
With only 0.33 km², Herbram-Wald is the smallest in area and at the same time with 464 inhabitants per km² the most densely populated district of Lichtenau.
Neighboring places
The Altenbekener district Schwaney and the Lichtenau districts Herbram in the west and Asseln in the south, which belong to the Paderborn district, border on Herbram-Wald in the north . To the east, Herbram-Wald borders Bad Driburg - Neuenheerse in the Höxter district .
climate
Like Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Herbram-Wald belongs to the oceanic climatic area of northwest Germany , to which it owes its low temperature contrasts and mild winters. However, continental influences are already at work . The temperature in summer is higher and the nights are cooler than in closer proximity to the coast. The location on the edge of the Egge Mountains causes a submontane climate of the low mountain range with cooler temperatures and higher precipitation than in other locations in the district.
history
Herbram-Wald did not come into being until World War II . First of all, a facility for the Economic Research Association (WiFo) was built. Fuel mixtures were produced there and stored in large tanks. There was also an ammunition store. The forest was cleared there to make way for streets where buildings with flat roofs were erected for camouflage reasons. Wifo's administration was located in the Hotel Tannenhof at the entrance to Herbram-Wald.
Municipal reorganization
Before 1 January 1975, Herbram forest belonged to the former town Herbram and thus to the Office Lichtenau (Westfalen) in county Buren . When the Sauerland / Paderborn Act came into force on this day, most of the municipalities of the Atteln office were merged with the municipalities of the Lichtenau office and thus also the municipality of Herbram with Herbram-Wald to form the new city of Lichtenau (Westphalia) and came with this to the Paderborn district.
The legal successor to the dissolved office of Lichtenau and the municipality of Herbram is the city of Lichtenau.
Herbram-Wald's old postcode was 4791.
politics
Petra Schäfers is the mayor of Herbram-Wald.
