Hermaios ( Greek  Ἑρμαῖος ) was a Greek potter who lived at the end of the 6th century BC. Was active in Athens .

Four signed red-figure bowls are known from him , the painting of which, always only in the interior, is ascribed to the Hermaios painter named after him :

  • Boston, Museum of Fine Arts 03.844
  • London, British Museum E 34
  • London, British Museum 96.10-22.1
  • St. Petersburg, Hermitage 647

The two London bowls are two early examples of the Form C Attic bowls, which had recently been perfected by the potter Kachrylion . After his time at Hermaios, the Hermaios painter probably also worked for the same Kachrylion.
