The manor house Lembach was a noble residence in Lembach , a district of Homberg (Efze) in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

Geographical location

It was located on the northwestern outskirts of the village in an overgrown today park to the west of the local manor to 190 m above mean sea level at the site of previously abandoned and dilapidated small Wasserburg Lembach whose moats of the immediate west running in the south-north direction Lembach were fed . Two small ponds , presumably remnants of the castle moats, are the only remnants of the castle complex today, which, however, have not yet been proven archaeologically.

history

The manor house was built by the lords of Heßberg , who had become the feudal owners of the manor in Lembach in 1604 , and was completed in 1606. In 1737 the estate and the manor house were bought by Wilhelm Schutzbar called Milchling , and then in 1773 by the Landgrave Councilor Wilhelm Deichmann, who was in office in Homberg . Until 1930, Good, manor house and most of the district Lembach were owned by the Familienfideikommisses family Deichmann. Then the Fideikommiss was dissolved and the land was sold to local farmers. The mansion, which was no longer in use, fell into disrepair and was demolished after 1945.
