The Hohberg ( 417.8 m ) is a mountain in the Bautzen district in Saxony . It is located southwest of Schirgiswalde in the Lausitzer Bergland and should not be confused with the Hohberg ( 368 m ) near Sohland on the Spree, just under four kilometers to the southeast .
geography
The mountain peak rises to the left of the Spree valley , to the southwest is the Funkenburg (376 m). It is surrounded by forest water in the south, the Kaltbach in the southeast and the Pilkebach in the north . At its foot there are Schirgiswalde in the north, Seifen in the northeast, Kieferberg in the east, Petersbach and Neuscheidebach in the southeast, Wehrsdorf in the south, Steinigtwolmsdorf in the southwest , Weifa in the west and Neuschirgiswalde in the northwest .
description
The little frequented mountain is a forward corner pillar of the massif between Weifa and Steinigtwolmsdorf, it consists mostly of two-mica granite. To the north it is related to its foothills, the Lärchenberg ( 356 m ).
The mountain belonging to the Schirgiswalder Oberhof is mainly made up of spruce trees and a few beeches. In forest usage it is referred to as Oberwald.
