The Honda VT 1300 CX is a motorcycle from the vehicle manufacturer Honda .

The chopper was released on January 14, 2009 in New York City and shipped from May 2009. In the United States, the motorcycle is marketed under the name Fury with an internal factory code of SC 61.

development

The engine was taken over from the cruiser Honda VTX 1300 and the design was largely developed by Honda Research America (HRA) in Florida. The development concept was based on the mass production of a chopper that appeared as a custom bike .

Technical specifications

drive

The transversely mounted, liquid-cooled two - cylinder engine with 1312 cm³ displacement has a nominal output of 43 kW (58 hp) and a maximum torque of 107 Nm at a speed of 2250 min −1 . The two cylinders of the V-engine are at an angle of 52 degrees to each other. The long-stroke four -stroke engine has a bore of 89.5 mm in diameter and a stroke of 104.3 mm. The compression ratio is 9.2: 1. The two cylinder heads each have a chain-driven, overhead camshaft that actuates two inlet valves and one outlet valve via rocker arms. Two balance shafts reduce vibrations. The engine heat is dissipated via a narrow water cooler that is placed between the front frame tubes.

The motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 165 km / h.

Power transmission

The primary drive takes place via gears. The power is separated by a mechanically operated multi-disc oil bath clutch, the torque conversion by a gearbox with five gears. The secondary drive is provided by a cardan drive .

Electrical system

The starter battery has a capacity of 11 Ah and supplies the electric starter . The alternator generates an electrical output of 381 watts.

Fuel supply

The mixture is formed by an electronic fuel injection called PGM-FI. Each cylinder is ignited by two transistor-controlled spark plugs. The average fuel consumption is 5.1 l per 100 km. The fuel tank has a volume of 12.8 liters. The manufacturer recommends the use of unleaded motor gasoline with a knock resistance of at least 95 octane and specifies a theoretical range of 251 km. The exhaust after-treatment is carried out by a controlled catalytic converter with two lambda probes and below the emission limit values of the emission standard Euro 3. The 2-in-1 exhaust system opens to the right side of the vehicle in a lying behind a chrome frame silencer .

landing gear

The chassis is based on a double loop frame made of steel and has a two-arm swing arm made of aluminum at the rear. The front wheel is guided by a telescopic fork with a 45 mm standpipe diameter. A disc brake with a three-piston floating caliper decelerates on the front tire, and a disc brake with a two-piston fixed caliper at the rear. An optional, partially integrated anti-lock braking system supports the deceleration on both brakes. The permissible total weight is 463 kg.

Reviews

“Japan's first custom series-production bike is an eye-catcher that can be ridden on the road with almost no frills. Nevertheless, a little driving experience is required to be able to move this chopper safely. Anyone who can be satisfied with the modest performance will receive a technically mature motorcycle with great show potential. But the show has its price, the Honda is by no means cheap. "

- Rolf Henniges : Motorbike

“The bottom line is that the VT 1300 CX is a perfectly functioning motorcycle - and a merciless blender that offers its owner and, even more so, those around him the big cinema. The VT buyer gets a foolproof, reliable toy that is fun to drive, that doesn't have to be screwed any further, that doesn't require the ability to suffer or sacrifice, and that still conveys a lot of outlaw image to third parties.
