The Huanca-Huanca district is located in the Angaraes province in the Huancavelica region in south-western central Peru . The district was established on February 28, 1941. It has an area of 107 km². The 2017 census counted 1401 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 1504, in 2007 it was 1643. The district administration is located in the 3567 m high village of Huanca Huanca with 954 inhabitants (as of 2017). Huanca Huanca is located about 15 km northeast of the provincial capital Lircay .
Geographical location
The district of Huanca-Huanca is located in the arid Andean highlands north-central in the province of Angaraes. The longitudinal extent in SSW-NNE direction is 19.5 km. The Río Urubamba borders the district in the extreme northeast.
The district Huanca-Huanca is bordered to the south and the southwest by the district Lircay , in the northwest on the district Huayllay Grande , on the north by the district Calla Marca , in the northeast on the district Acombamba ( province Acobamba ) and to the east by the district Congalla .
