IC 1917 is a compact lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pendulum Clock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 1 billion light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 1920 and IC 1933 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on October 14, 1898 .
