IC 1919 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is an estimated 54 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 20,000 ly. It is cataloged as a member of the Fornax galaxy cluster under the designation FCC 43 . In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 1339 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on November 25, 1897 .
