IC 1998 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E0 in the constellation Taurus on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 506 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 135,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 8, 1903 .
