IC 2005 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 264 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on January 18, 1898 by the French astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
