IC 2006 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 56 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on October 3, 1897 .
