IC 2174 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Giraffe at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 175 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years across. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with NGC 2314 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on December 24, 1891 .
