IC 5357 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 pec in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is around 314 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 80,000 light years . The galaxies IC 5351 , IC 5352 , IC 5356 , IC 5359 are in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Edward Barnard in 1889 .
