IC 5345 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 360 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7719 and IC 5343 .
The Type Ib Supernova SN 2001fx was observed here.
The object was discovered on October 11, 1898 by Herbert Alonzo Howe .
