IHF Cup 1986/87

In the 1986/87 IHF Cup , 25 handball club teams took part, which had qualified for the competition in their home leagues in the previous season. The defending champion was BM Granollers . It was the 6th edition of the IHF Cup. In the final Granitas Kaunas was able to prevail against Atlético Madrid .

mode

The competition started with 9 games in the 1st round, the winners advanced to the 2nd round and the quarter-finals followed. Atlético Madrid, Gladsaxe HG, SC Szeged , Slavia Prague, VfL Gummersbach , SC Magdeburg , Eskilstuna Guif moved into the 2nd round by bye. All rounds including the final were carried out in a knockout system with a return leg. The winner of the final was the IHF Cup winner of the 1986/87 season.
