The IHF Cup 1981/82 was the 1st edition of the competition introduced by the International Handball Federation . This was attended by eleven handball club teams that had qualified for the European Cup in their home countries in the previous season . The Yugoslav team from RK Trešnjevka Zagreb prevailed in the final against Egle Vilnius and were the first to enter the list of winners.

With a bye , TSC Berlin , Eglė Vilnius, CS Știința Bacău, Bakony Vegyész and RK Trešnjevka Zagreb made it directly to the quarter-finals.
