EHF Cup 2008/09

A total of 51 handball club teams took part in the 2008/09 EHF Cup and had qualified for the competition in their home countries in the previous season. It was the 28th edition of the EHF Cup . The cup games began on September 6, 2008, the second round final took place on May 17, 2009. The winner of the EHF Cup this year was the German club VfL Gummersbach . The defending champion of the EHF Cup from the previous year was the German club HSG Nordhorn .

1Because of the Caucasus conflict in 2008 , the Georgian Association withdrew its representative HK Tbilisi ; Maccabi Rischon LeZion thus moved into the next round without a fight.
