Igor Anatoljewitsch Bobrin ( Russian Игорь Анатольевич Бобрин , born November 14, 1953 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a former Soviet figure skater who started in a single run . He is the European champion from 1981 .

Bobrin had international success quite late in his career. In the 1970s he was mostly in the shadow of his strong compatriots Sergei Tschetweruchin , Sergei Volkov , Vladimir Kovalev and Yuri Ovchinnikov . After his resignations, he became number one in Soviet figure skating in the early 1980s. He was Soviet champion four times. His greatest success was winning the European title in 1981. In the same year he also won his only medal at world championships with bronze . In 1982, at the high figure skating age of 28, he won his last international medal with bronze at the European Championships .

Bobrin's running style was characterized by the high artistic expression of his freestyle to preferably classical music ( Bajazzo ), in which he used unusual figures in contrast to the Russian runners of his generation.

After the end of his amateur career, Bobrin opened his own ice theater in Moscow in 1986 , the Bobrin Ice Theater Moscow - Moscow Stars on Ice .

From 2011 to 2012 he participated as a jury member in the TV show "Cup of Professionals" on the Pervy Canal in Russia .

Bobrin is married to the Olympic champion in ice dancing Natalja Bestemjanowa .
